Negative, Ghostrider. The originals are fine.

I actually don't mind the 996 lights. I didn't like them all too much when they were first out but they have grown on me. it might just be that they are what are making the 996TT more "affordable" in the long run.

That's not even a picture of the kit, that's just a new 911.

I like ths 996. It was the 911 I grew up with and I've always had a soft spot for it. The 997 and 991 look better, but I wouldn't change the 996.

Looks to be a base 996 to a 997.2 GT3.

I think that it depends on the color...I feel that dark grey with the headlights would be alright with me...if it was a bright red 996, the headlights may feel out of place.

I wouldn't buy a bright red car so that is a non issue with me. But the dark grey the 996TT came in was dead sexy.

...For $8k, you could probably sell your 996 and just buy a 997.

Aside from the exhausts (I always hated those combined exhausts), the overly plain trunk lid, and the poor panel gap between the trunk lid and the rear bumper, that's a beautiful 911. I love the ducktail. I'm on the fence about the tail lights, though.

If you must change the early 996/986 headlights... just mask them.

But I agree with other commenters, I was somewhat indifferent before, I didn't mind them, but I could kind of see why they weren't wildly popular.

But they are reminiscent of a unified and streamlined modernized aesthetic adaptation of the original 911 headlights.

Actually, I would really like a sleek, pared-down narrow body 996 Carrera 4 6-speed, and I would actually consider using a simpler, cleaner 986 standard Boxster front fascia, with the plain radiator intakes, and no needless center intake, if the non-'S' car doesn't have the center radiator.

I am not eager to drive a car packed with batteries, but I was struck by the clean, classic simplicity of the eRuf 997, and have been smitten with narrow-bodied water-cooler boxers ever since, for the clean look, with the traditional gasoline power train.

Its less expensive to source the parts yourself. Ebay has used front fender pair for $1300. Used 997 hood is $875, front bumper for $1300 or less used. Fuel door and hinge is $100-150. The hood hinges are $150-200 used. The headlamps are the difficult ones as they are $2300 new and finding used is between $600-2000.

1300 fenders874 hood1300 front bumper cover$100 hood hingesheadlamps $1500————————-$5074 parts. There will be fender fitment/cutting.Then prime, prep, paint.$8-10k total.

Find a good body shop and they can source the parts for you and make a better package price. Work them to use your 911 as a show piece for their quality work on exotic cars for extra discount.
